If I'm not knitting or sewing something, I must be cooking something!

Come on in!

It's been a long week (even though it's only Thursday). We're doing the State Mandated Ass-esments and I spend a lot of time watching little people write (well, OK I get to do some knitting, too).
Listen up people, next week is my birthday, and along with Alison (who had this idea, well, sort of) I would like to invite you to my virtural birthday party. What kind of tea (or drink and drinkipoos count!) and what sort of cake does it for you on your birthday? I'll post a picture of my cake on the day.

I don't know, Rae. Do we have to drive anywhere after the party? I've read about your wedding.....

White birthday cake. When we lived in Cleveland it HAD to be from Hough's Bakery. But sadly, I think they went out of business. And then the ONLY drink is skim milk. I know, not very exciting but my favorite. And, while ice cream is one of my all-time favorite foods...not neccessary when there is a quality birthday cake around. Anyway, when is the wonderful day? I am a firm believer that your birthday is the one day of the year when you should be Queen (or King) for the day and get to do whatever (within the law)you want, and eat and drink whatever your heart desires!

Thanks for swinging past my blog the other day. If you're knitting scarves for the homeless, my pattern would be fast, and would be good if you used 2 strands of worsted...it's a great stashbuster and you can mix and match colors or solids with multi colors..etc...great when you can pick up a few on sale/clearance..etc...but not enough for a whole pattern.
As to birthday cake...for me it's choc-choc...but my kids grew up with banana cake..it's a family thing from their dad's side of the family. Hoping to have daughter over for her cake any day now...she's been a busy girl!
Happy Birthday!

Oooooo! Happy Birthday to-be to you!

I've been partial to ice cream cake the last few years--Carvel, not Friendly's. Since my birthday is at the end of July, a crisp and cold cider wine hits the spot beautifully. Hope you get what you want!

Chocolate Symphony Mousse Cake.
Englishman bought one for my last birthday. I'd describe it to you but I kept passing out from extreme bliss between each mouthful so all that transfered from short term to long term memory was "goooooooooood. mmmmm".
